VIDEO: '˜Reckless' Luton motorcyclist is jailed

Akeem Foster, 24, of Teesdale, Luton, was sentenced at Luton Crown Crourt after being found guilty of dangerous driving.

On Sunday February 7 a covert police operation to tackle nuisance motorcyclists was carried out in the Sundon Park area of Luton.

Foster was caught on police footage riding an off-road motorcycle throughout Luton without wearing a helmet, travelling on the wrong side of the road and the wrong way around roundabouts, as well as carrying out stunts such as “wheelies”.

He was arrested in Sundon Park, following a police pursuit that lasted almost two hours and involved the police helicopter.

Sgt Mark Pugh said: “We’re releasing this footage to show that we are taking a firm line on nuisance motorcyclists, they will be caught and they will be punished.

“Foster was caught riding in an extremely reckless manner with complete disregard for either his own safety or that of others. This irresponsible and outright dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated and we are committed to tackling the issue of nuisance motorcyclists across the county.

“I hope that this acts as a reminder to other people like Foster who think they are above the law and that they think twice before risking lives.”

Beds Police has been targeting off-road motorcyclists with their Operation Meteor – launched last year.

Residents must still call 101 to speak directly to police to report live incidents, and 999 in a genuine emergency.
