VIDEO: World record bid nets £2,500 for cancer charity

A Leighton gym owner smashed his fundraising target when he staged a 35-hour non-stop Brazilian Ju Jitsu marathon in memory of his nan on Saturday.

James Pullan, who runs Elite Training Centre, in North Street, organised the challenge in the hope of raising £2,000 for Cancer Research UK after Marjorie Batchelor died from cancer in June.

James and his fellow fighters at the gym raised £2,500 and are now waiting for official confirmation that they have set a new world record. The previous best Ju Jitsu marathon was set at 30 hours last year.
