Eaton Bray are sitting pretty in fourth place in Four Counties Division 1 with a crushing 54 run victory over Milton Keynes.
Winning the toss and electing to bat played perfectly into Bray’s hands, as they set a huge 235-4 from their knock. There were good starts throughout the order, but Darren Kerins’ swashbuckling 67 not out was the highlight as he came out swinging at the end.
In reply, Gary Ellerton was in devastating form as he tore through the middle order on his way to figures of 5-40. It meant MK left Rye Gardens licking their wounds, 181 all out, leaving Eaton Bray fourth in the table with 103 points, just three back of Thurleigh.
In Division 2, Eggington Foresters sit atop the table after five games with a comprehensive 73 run win over Old Bradwell. Naveed Ahmed’s 55 put the visitors in charge as they scored 210-7. In reply, Old Bradwell were skittled for 137.
Eggs are 11 points clear of Aspley Guise (249-4)in second after they could only draw with Milton Bryan (203-7) after a great knock of 90 from James Barrington.
Ivinghoe & Pitstone were well beaten in Division 3 to remain dangerously hovering about the drop zone. Open University put on 146 for their first wicket on their way to 263-4. In response, Ivinghoe were all out for 133.
Eggington Foresters 2nds (121) sit bottom of Division 4 after losing to Whitchurch (125-8), while Milton Bryan 2nds (39) sit one place above them after losing heavily to Wing with Wingrave (199-3) after Sam Rose’s 100 not out.
In Division 5, Great Brickhill 3rds (299-9) beat MK City 2nds (77) to stay top of the league, Eaton Bray 2nds lost to Edlesborough while Stewkley Vicarage (171-6) played out a draw with Winslow (171).
In Division 6, Cublington (160) lost to Old Bradwell (242-8).
Leighton 3rds (154-9) top Division 7 after beating Edlesborough 2nds (135), while at the opposite end, Wing with Wingrave 2nds (224-8) drew with Wolverton 3rds (253-6) and are in the drop zone. Ivinghoe & Pitstone 2nds (47) lost to Aspley Guise 2nds (48-4).
