Hockliffe Lions took over at the top of Leighton & District Sunday League Division 1 after title rivals Stanbridge & Tilsworth slipped to defeat.
Hockliffe’s 4-0 win over Stoke Athletic would have kept them level with Stanbridge.
However Stanbridge’s surprise 5-3 loss at the hands of Swan Northall means Hockliffe take over at the top of the pile with two games in hand.
Houghton United are three points off the top after beating Red Lion Phoenix 4-2. They stay third in the table.
Next Sunday, Hockliffe Lions take on Four Kings (Dunstable), Stanbridge face Stoke Athletic and Red Lion Phoenix play Swan Northall.
In Division 2, Watling opened up a three point lead at the top of the table with a 5-1 win over Bird & Bush - the only game in the division.
In the Division 2 Cup, Spartak went crashing out, losing 5-1 to Saints.
Next Sunday, Watling take on Real KD, Sporting Dunstable play Spartak, Bird & Bush play Saints and L&D Social face AFC Oldhill.
Division 3 Leaders GRS booked their place in theCup semi final after an eight goal thriller with Dunstable Colts, which saw them through 5-3.
Joining them in the next round is Go Bowling, who made light work of Abbey Leisure, thumping them 7-3.
Parkside Rangers beat Heath 2-0 but Southcott Village lost 4-1 to MKF Caddington.
Next Sunday, Dunstable Colts face Abbey Leisure, GRS take on MKF Caddington, Parkside Rangers welcome Go Bowling and Southcott Village host Leighton Snooker Club.
Division 4 table toppers Leighton Lions now lead by five points after Sunday’s action.
Lions were 3-1 winners over Caddington Chequers, while title rivals Houghton United Reserves were on the wrong end of a 6-2 scoreline against Leighton Town (Sunday) to see them drop back.
Next Sunday, the only Division 4 fixture sees Swan Northall Reserves take on Red Lion Phoenix Reserves.
