Leighton Town look to have overcome their shaky start to the SSML Premier Division with a creditable, yet frustrating 0-0 draw with league leaders Oxhey Jets.

After hammering Stotfold 6-0 on Tuesday night for their first win of the campaign, Danny Nicholls side were on the back foot for much of the opening half at Bell Close against Jets.

A uneventful first half though made way for a hectic second, with Jets reduced to 10 men barely minutes after the restart when Andrew Brennan slid in late on Dave Murphy.

Leighton though, for all their pressure could not find a way past keeper Matt Evans.

The stopped denied Junior Muya, Lewis McBride and Denilson Silva in the dying seconds of the game to ensure the leaders maintained top spot, while Leighton would only secure a point, leaving them in 12th place.

Leighton are back in action tonight, taking on Hatfield Town in the League Challenge Trophy.
