Leighton Town will be aiming to claim only their third win of the Southern League Division One Central season on Saturday when they travel to Daventry Town.
Craig Bicknell’s men will be fresh and raring to go, as they were handed a weekend off due to their scheduled opponents Uxbridge still being involved in the FA Cup. That game will now be played on November 4.
Leighton were beaten 2-0 last time out at Royston, in a game where they were reduced to 10 men in the first half.
On paper, a trip to Daventry Town looks like a real test, as the ‘Purple Army’ were title contenders for most of last season, before missing out in the play-offs.
But they have started this season slowly, and last weekend were beaten 2-0 at rock-bottom AFC Hayes, who claimed their first win of the season.
