Leighton Town were left disappointed on Saturday when their game with Colney Heath was abandoned in the second half due to a waterlogged pitch at Bell Close.
Town began the day three points behind Heath, and victory would have taken them level on points in eighth place in SSML Premier Division.
As the rain fell during the opening half at Bell Close, the water settled on the surface, making it tough for the players to keep their footing.
Town took the lead on the stroke of half time though when Ben Gallant was on hand to convert.
Work on the pitch at half time appeared to do the trick as the sides emerged, albeit delayed, for the second half, but just 11 minutes after the restart, Colney Heath equalised through Harry Sheps.
Six minutes later though, the referee abandoned the game due to the rain.
Town are back in action tonight (Tuesday) against Potton United in the League Challenge Trophy.
