Town downed by Uxbridge

Leighton Town are still seeking their first win in the league since October after another home defeat, this time to Uxbridge on Tuesday.

The 2-0 defeat was their 10th Division 1 Central without a win - a slump which has seen Craig Bicknell’s men drop to 19th in the table.

But despite the 16 point difference between the sides, Leighton more than held their own against Uxbridge for almost 70 minutes.

And they had chances to nose in front too, but for Uxbridge keeper Paul McCarthy making a series of saves to keep Town at bay.

But Matt Woods caught Leighton on the counter to put the visitors ahead late in the day, before Chris Moore doubled the advantage with 13 minutes to go to complete the win.
