Linslade Crusaders were in the medals at the Beds ASA Championships in Luton, but dropped down the overall order.

Spirits were high, with Crusaders sitting 4th in the medal table ahead of Flitwick, Dunstable, Putteridge and Leighton Buzzard, and behind Modernians, Team Luton and Biggleswade.

There were many great swims across the weekend including medal placings for Finn Bunyard , Megan Bunyard, Daniel Chandler, Ethan Gell, Walter Hackett, Amber Hill, Kristin Quigley, Cameron Manley, Ellie Mathews, Ethan Rogers, Joe Talbot and Annalise Wright.

Crusaders had been very successful at the first weekend of Counties with the relay teams and the second weekend proved just as fruitful.

There was a Silver medal placing for the 12/13year old boys 4 x 50m Freestyle relay team of Finn Bunyard, Daniel Chandler, Walter Hackett, and William Wright. A superb Gold for the14/15yrs girls 4 x 50m Medley Relay team of Daisy Saunders, Megan Bunyard, Annalise Wright, Victoria Sanderson. A Bronze medal was awarded to the 14/15yrs boys Medley Relay: Tom Pickering, Joe Talbot, Walter Hackett & Ethan Rogers. And a Bronze medal for the younger boys, Ethan Gell, Jack Hill, Ashton Neo, Anthony Hooper in their 4 x 50m Freestyle relay.

Across the two weekends Crusaders achieved a total of 29 Regional qualifying times, 2 County records, 3 individual club records and 10 relay club records.

It was so great to see the spread of success across all age groups. To get to Counties is a great achievement whether it’s one swim or multiple swims. Our swimmers train hard all year round so we hope they all enjoyed their experiences over the two County weekends.

Crusaders ended up 5th in the medals table, with 14 golds, 28 silvers and 24 bronzes – a very good result.
