July concerts include several genres including jazz, chamber and opera.

Tina May and Friends perform in the State Music Room with an evening of jazz delights. The quartet will play a diverse programme including songs from Tina’s recent albums alongside more familiar standards, approached in unfamiliar ways. The two hour concert (including interval) takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday July 16. Tickets cost £12, concessions £10, from 01280 825710.

The following evening (7.30pm Sunday July 17)sees performers of a different genre in the State Music Room.

Brackley Chamber Music Club bring summer alive with a concert of beautiful music with Shakespeare in mind from Elizabethan to modern times. The enchanting programme will include madrigals and instrumental music from Shakespeare’s contemporaries Dowland, Morely and Gibbons, followed by settings of the Bard’s songs and sonnets from more recent composers including Thomas Arne and Vaughan Williams.

Opera della Luna present Tales of Offenbach, two crazy one act operas: Croquefer and L’ile de Tulipatan by the French master of comic opera Jacques Offenbach. The performances will be sung in English in a completely new version by Jeff Clarke and performed in the Roxburgh Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday July 23 and at 6pm on Sunday July 24.
