Joint concert featuring Festival Singers

Leighton’s busy choral society is excited to be joining with the Biggleswade and District Choral Society and the St Mary’s Singers, Potton, in a joint concert to be held in the new King’s House concert hall in Bedford on Saturday, March 28 at 7.30pm.

The three choirs have not sung together previously and will be joined by the East Bedford Chamber Orchestra to sing the Brahms famous work, Eine Deutches Requiem more commonly known as the Brahms German Requiem.

In all there will be nearly 200 musicians performing conducted by the Festival Singers own musical director, Alan Childs and David Beer who is musical director of the St Mary’s Singers.

Richard Watts, chairman of the Festival Singers, said: “We are delighted to be joining with two other local choral societies in performing the Brahms Requiem and to listening to the orchestral pieces which make up the first half of the programme.”
