The first-ever 4DX cinema in the UK is launching this week, just up the road at Cineworld Milton Keynes.
Said to offer “a revolutionary cinematic experience which stimulates all five senses”, the new 4DX auditorium will include high-tech motion seats and special effects including wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents, in both 2D and 3D formats, which will work in perfect synchronicity with the on-screen action.
Cineworld say this will creating the most unmissable and exhilarating cinematic experience yet.
4DX was developed in South Korea by the CJ conglomerate, a leader in the Asian entertainment industry, and the technology has been warmly adopted by the big Hollywood studios. With that support, more than 200 movies, including top blockbusters, have been screened in 4DX auditoriums, and a large number of movies will be released in a 4DX version in the UK.
Operating at 150 auditoriums in 30 countries, 4DX recently received the Cinema Innovation of the Year award from I3DS (International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society) and has been highly praised by famous film directors such as Alfonso Cuaron of Gravity fame.
The 4DX experience will kick off on Friday, January 30 in Milton Keynes – with tickets now on sale for Kingsman: The Secret Service.
The new auditorium has taken a total of five months to complete and includes 140 seats plus a curved screen measuring at an incredible 5.8m x 10.5m – bigger than a double decker bus.
Mark Johnson, general manager at Cineworld Milton Keynes said: “We’re delighted to be the first Cineworld cinema to be bringing 4DX to not only the people of Milton Keynes, but also the UK. We can’t wait to see people’s reactions!”
