Leighton Buzzard Music Club will be playing host to a French pianist for a concert taking place later this month.
Emmanuel Despax will perform at Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre on Saturday September 15.
He has been described by the classical music magazine Gramaphone as “a formidable talent, fleet of finger, elegant of phrase and a true keyboard colourist”.
Emmanuel performs internationally and is a regular broadcaster on France Musique, BBC Radio 3 and Medici TV.
He has performed at the Louvre Auditorium in Paris, Wigmore Hall, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Fazioli Auditorium in Italy and the Cadogan Hall in London.
A spokesman for the Leightion Buzzard Music Club said they were delighted to bring the talented musician to the Bedfordshire venue.
His programme will comprise Franck, prelude and Fugue, Wagner/Liszt Tannhauser Overture and Schubert’s Sonata in B flat D960
It is the first in a new season of concerts organised by the club which aims to bring the best of classical music to the club.
The concert starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets for the show are £14 for adults or £12.50 for members of Leighton Buzzard Music Club. The fee is £5 for students and free for accompanied children under the age of 16. All ticket prices exclude booking fees.
