The Corsairs
The Corsairs

A band who have been given many names for the style of their music play at The Wheatsheaf in Leighton Buzzard.

The Corsairs have been described as rockabilly, punkabilly and psychobilly, but they bring their sound to the venue on Friday June 24.

Front man Mark Loveridge playing slap double bass is the powerhouse of this three piece band with his on and off stage antics and distinctive vocals.

Tom Dalby is rock solid on lead guitar and at the back Nigel Parsler on the drum kit. The whole band oozes charismatic, vibrant energy which entices audience participation throughout the entire performance.

The play list ranges from The Jam, The Coral, Wurzels to Fairground Attraction.

Their first CD Under the Covers was recorded in 2000 with their eighth and most recent album Whats My Age Now?? being released last year and receiving some great reviews.

On Saturday, local promotors Juice Box have three local bands playing with Leighton Buzzard band ‘Kings & Thieves ‘ headlining - sounding great already!

Music starts around 9.30pm and admission is free.
