Award-winning vocalist Georgia Mancio will be making a special appearance at The Five Bells in Stanbridge on Thursday (March 12) for the next gig in the acclaimed 2015 Greensand Jazz season.
With a reputation as one of the UK’s most original, adventurous and multi-faceted new artists, Georgia is already a winner of The Brussels International Young Jazz Singers’ Competition and is hotly-tipped for a 2015 Parliamentary Jazz Award as Vocalist of the Year.
Her stylish and individual approach to music embraces her Anglo/Italian/Uruguayan background, seamlessly performing in five languages and interpreting the jazz songbook, Brazilian samba, Chilean folk and Italian pop, often with her own beautifully-crafted lyrics.
Georgia will be joined by virtuoso guitarist Nigel Price, whose 2011 album Hit The Road was one of Mojo Magazine’s top five worldwide jazz albums, plus Leighton Buzzard’s own Ronnie Scott’s All-Star, Arnie Somogyi on bass.
The music starts at 8.15pm at the pub in Station Road.
Tickets: £11 / £3 (u18s and students). Book online at www.greensandjazz.org.uk.
