Kye’s godmother Adele Doherty has set up justgiving pages online to help raise funds for the famiy.

She said: “The response has been overwelming and I can’t describe what it means to Kye and his family knowing we are helping secure any equipment he may need, as well as new technology with prosthetics that may arise in the future.”

On May 7, there will be a charity football match at Leighton Buzzard Football Club at Bells Close. The gates will open at 12noon, with tickets at £3 for adults, £1.50 for children and free for under 9s.

There will also be live music at the event, with a bouncy castle, face painting and a burger van, all organised by friends of Kye’s stepdad Luke.
