Linslade speed camera set on fire and stolen

A speed camera in Linslade was set on fire and the filming device stolen from within it.

The incident which took place in the early hours of Saturday, April 2, has just been made public by the police, who have refused to comment on whether the vandalism was the act of a motorist who had been flashed speeding.

A spokesperson of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Cameras, Tickets & Collisions team, said: “Not only was this a needless act of vandalism, there was also a theft of the camera itself, which costs thousands of pounds.

“I’d appeal for anyone with information and any witnesses to the incident to get in touch to help find those responsible.”
