Cedars Upper School held its annual Sky Sports Living for Sport day, with 200m and 400m runner Lesley the special guest.

Brett Kinloch, team leader for PE, said: “Lesley Owusu was our athlete mentor and the primary purpose of her day was to inspire our children into believing in themselves as a sportsperson, at school and in the social aspect of their life.

“She did this by telling her story to our 46 GCSE students and then by having a Q&A session.

“She then took 20 select students for a practical session and looked at the six keys to success – Mental Toughness, Hunger to Achieve, Breaking Barriers, Sports and Life, Planning for Success, and People Skills. It was a great day.”
