'˜Insane' fun at event for 8-year-old meningitis victim

Kye Vincent had both legs and one hand amputated on April 14 after contracting meningococcal septicaemia – a form of meningitis which targets the bloodstream.

Since news of Kye’s illness got around, a flurry of events have been organised in and around Leighton Buzzard to raise money for him and his family. In particular, fundraisers want to supply him with an electric wheelchair.

Fitness bootcamp Insanity 83 are hosting a fun day at Mary Bassett Lower School fieldon Saturday, June 4 from 2pm.

The day is designed to offer some fun-filled fitness activities, designed for all ages and fitness types.

Jenny Pniewski, from Insanity 83, said: “We can only imagine the heartache that Kye and his family are experiencing. As a local community we all want to support the Vincent family with the challenges that lie ahead.

“So we at Studio 83 have set up this page to help to raise funds towards Kye’s electric wheelchair, and any other medical expenses that the family will face.”

The event, billed as ‘Insanity FUN-DRAISER’ starts at 2pm and entry is £5.

Ms Pniewski added: “We would love to see as many faces as possible there.

“All ages and fitness abilities are welcome, the more the merrier.”
