PBs tumble for Leighton in Southend

In the U13 girls, Niquole Carter set a new PB in the high jump and Annie Rose recorded 7.10m in the shot. On the track Rebecca Knibb and Daisy Giltrow produced 800m PBs (2.52 & 2.54). Julia Bell finished 3rd in the hurdles and Alicia Down clocked a debut PB in the 200m.

In the U13 boys Dominic set a 1500m PB of 5.08 supported by a PB for Euan bell in discus (13.70m). The team were backed up by strong performances from Thomas Keane and Arty Mead who completed the their day running leg 1 and 3 in the relay.

The U15 girls produced their best results of the season with Mckenna Keefe achieving a PB in the high jump (1.40m), Amy Killick with a PB in javelin (16.06m) and Tianne Clark with a PB in discus (16.70m). Dana Carter had a strong 800m to finish 3rd.

The U15 boys pulled out some great performances with PBs in the 800m for Owen Lindars and Joseph Bidlake-Hull (2.30 & 3.00).

The U11s were showing their promise for the future of the club with a winning shot put and PB for Carys Clarke (4.89m) and Katie Killick following with a PB of 3.59m.

In the senior women, a 40 year unclaimed club record finally went with Alex Killick throwing 15.75m in the hammer. Making her debut, Annis Turner pulled out strong performances in the sprints with time of 88.1 in the 400m. Caroline Mann threw 5.48m in the shot with Hannah Dimmock completing the team with a strong Javelin effort.

For the senior men, it was an elder statesman David Killick who bagged a couple of PBs including 24.95m in the Javelin. Charlie Mead returned to form in the 1500m with a PB of 4.46 and Patrick Clay leapt to a PB of 4.32m in the Long Jump. There were also impressive performances by Jordan Clay, Billy Mead and Stuart Dimmock.
