Live music with no safety net

YOU can catch a night of acoustic entertainment from The Icarus Project, with support from Simon Willis, on Saturday at the Greyhound in High Street South, Dunstable.

The project is a new artistic enterprise from Dunstable guitarists James Fielden and Joe Wood and is another by-product of a local ‘open mic’ night – this one from the successful Gig The Greyhound sessions on Wednesday nights.

Following the success of the ad hoc duets they performed there, James and Joe decided to take their combined musicality out on the road. The dynamic duo’s Facebook Page says: “This is about playing acoustic music, having fun, while not getting our wings burnt flying too close to the sun!”

The music is a diverse mix of songs that cover a range of musical genres so there should be something to everyone’s taste. And it’s all live, performed without the aid of a safety net (aka backing tracks). The action kicks off at 9pm and entry is free.

> On Friday it’s the end of the University of Bedfordshire’s Diversity and Community Week when they stage a gig at the Luton Carnival Centre.
