Coward classic gets all-star cast in new touring show

A winner of Strictly Come Dancing and stars of Call the Midwife and Downton Abbey come together for a show written by Noel Coward.

The much-loved playwright’s show Privates Lives can be seen at Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre from Monday, March 7, to Saturday, March 12.

It focuses on a divorced couple who, while honeymooning with their new spouses, discover that they are staying in adjacent rooms at the same hotel.

Despite a perpetually stormy relationship, they realise that they still have feelings for each other.

Tom Chambers, former star of Holby City and Waterloo Road, will appear in the show.

He is no stranger to the land of the theatre having performed in Top Hat the musical and he also won the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing.

He will be playing the charming and lovable Elyot.

Also appearing alongside Chambers is Laura Rogers who was in the controversial BBC drama Tipping the Velvet. She plays the unconventional and vivacious Amanda.

Charlotte Ritchie from the drama series Call the Midwife and comedy series Fresh Meat and Siblings is also in the show alongside Downton Abbey’s Richard Teverson.

Private Lives has been described by the production company as: “An elegant evening of wit and glamour that bubbles with sex and promises to be a deliciously delectable and unforgettable classic.”

Tickets for the show cost from £15 and the performances are at 7.30pm each evening with matinee productions at 2.30pm on Thursday and Saturday during the play’s week long run.
