Creative Leighton Buzzard wedding photographer doesn't duck out of any chance to keep busy despite coronavirus hitting business hard

We are pleased to announce that after being on the shelf for more than two years gathering dust, Mr and Mrs (Plastic) Duck have taken the plunge and become a married pair.

This heartwarming event took place in Drakes Avenue - yes, honestly! - at the Leighton Buzzard home of award-winning wedding photographer Lewis Duncan, 35, who was ably assisted by his 10-year-old son Alfie.

He said: “It was a beautiful sunny afternoon and the blushing bride had her make-up applied, prior to her hair stylist fixing her veil.

“Papa Duck looked dapper in a purple bow tie and black tuxedo as he waddled his daughter down the aisle to Mr Duck, resplendent in red bow tie and grey top hat.”

The popular Bedfordshire snapper who’s had 21 wedding photography cancellations because of coronavirus, was keen to stress that social distancing was maintained at all times.

He said: “Mr and Mrs Duck only left lockdown to take to the pond in the garden for their first photo together, which was beautifully reflected in the water.”

The happy couple then headed back to the kitchen for a bubbly celebration in the sink.

The married father-of-two claimed the idea came to him after seeing something similar with Ken and Barbie dolls. “Posing models with arms and legs was too easy,” he smiled. “I wanted something more challenging.”

So Lewis and his wife Meg, who have another son, six-year-old Rex, decided to get creative.

The result is an enchanting seven picture tableau on their Pho2u! Facebook site which has already attracted positive comments.

And although his business is at a standstill, Lewis counts himself lucky because he’s working 15 hours a week at Morrison’s petrol station.

“We’ve got NHS staff coming in after their shifts and it’s humbling to be able to provide a service for these people who are saving lives,” he said.
