Specsavers Leighton Buzzard has marked the completion of its store upgrade with a community celebration featuring a charity raffle and a visit from the Mayor of Leighton Buzzard, Cllr David Bligh.

Mayor Cllr David Bligh toured the refurbished store, met team members and learned more about the enhanced clinical technology now available, including specialist rooms and equipment for both eye and hear care.

The team of optical and hearing professionals also launched a raffle for customers, which has now been extended to Wednesday 31 December.

Two lucky raffle winners will receive a pair of brand-new designer frames along with Specsavers’ enhanced anti-reflection and scratch-resistant treatment for lenses - Ultra Clear Super Clean.

The proceeds will be going to Leighton Linslade Helpers. The charity provides vital support services for residents facing hardship, including a food bank, community fridge, prescription collection service and “check-in & chat” café sessions for vulnerable or isolated individuals.

Ekta Kotecha, Optometrist Director at Specsavers Leighton Buzzard, says: ‘We are so delighted to share our newly refurbished store with the community. Supporting a local charity through our celebrations felt like the perfect way to give something back.

‘The Leighton Linslade Helpers have been an incredible force for good since 2020. We’re honoured to support the team and contribute to the essential work they do.’

Mayor Bligh adds: ‘It’s wonderful to see a local business investing in its services and its community. The upgraded technology at Specsavers Leighton Buzzard will benefit residents for years to come, and their support for Leighton Linslade Helpers shows a real commitment to helping those who need it most.’
