Digger delivers new life for Rushmere play area

The playground by Tree Tops Café at Rushmere Country Park is set to be refreshed with brand new equipment.
Local MP Alex Mayer joined centre manager Paul Hirst as the digger moved in on a cold first day of works.
The upgraded area will feature five new wildlife-themed play pieces, including bug springers and a spider swing. Plus there will be a new mini play digger.
The revamp is part funded by a £23,000 Government cash injection.
Work is expected to take around ten days to complete.
Alex Mayer MP said: “This investment means a better, safer place for children to play. The new design has been shaped by local families and will have some old favourites and exciting new changes. Of course the proof will be in the playing! I look forward to seeing the transformation.”
The Park also plans to revamp its popular Fairy Trail later this year. Rushmere Country Park is free to use and open daily.
