The winners of Alex Mayer MP’s 2025 Schools Christmas Card Competition have been revealed.

Megan (12) from Linslade School has taken the top spot this year. Her detailed illustration of a dog in a festive hat, looking out of a window onto a snowy winter scene, will appear on the front of the MP’s official Christmas card.

Hundreds of talented young artists from schools across the area took part. Their designs now feature on cards being sent to homes in Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Houghton Regis and surrounding villages as well as to some famous addresses including 10 Downing Street and even Buckingham Palace.

Also showcased on the card are two snowmen: one with an excellent carrot nose by Willow (6) from Heathwood Lower School and another wearing a striking green hat by Oliver (8) from Beaudesert Lower.

Alex (6) from Aston St Peter’s has created a perfect penguin while Carys (7) from Thomas Whitehead shows Santa with a sack full of presents.

Rori (7) a pupil at St Augustine’s offers a humorous twist with Christmas trees being eaten by a shark. Meanwhile Tainash (11) from Thornhill has drawn Santa zooming through the air.

Takeisha (13) from Queensbury Academy has produced a colourful Westminster scene complete with Big Ben and a red bus.

Plus you can spot some local landmarks. Felix (5) Hockcliffe Lower has drawn the lion from Dunstable Downs while excitable elves surround the pencil on Parson’s Rec by Fearne (6) from Greenleas.

The Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle invited Alex Mayer to display her official Christmas card in Speaker’s House, his residence in Parliament.

Alex Mayer MP said: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in my Christmas card competition this year. I absolutely loved looking through all the entries which turned my office into a winter wonderland.”

“A big well done to Megan and to everyone whose fantastic designs feature on the card, and thank you to everyone who took part."
