In Pictures: Brooklands School impresses audiences with performances of Disney's Aladdin Jr

Brooklands School is celebrating the success of two incredible performances of Disney's Aladdin Jr.

The cast comprised pupils across all year groups who worked together to tell the tale of how a kind-hearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true.

The shows were performed on June 26 and 27.

The cast dazzled audience members with show-stopping numbers such as 'Friend Like Me', 'Prince Ali' and 'A Whole New World'.

Bethan Albone, director of music said: "We are so proud of all pupils who have been involved in the production. The cast have put an enormous amount of time and effort into rehearsals. Their hard work, dedication and commitment really shone through to make the show a huge success. Our backstage crew were incredibly professional behind the scenes, and pupils also assisted in creating the scenery under the guidance of our DT department'.

Julie Hodgson, Headteacher added: "Once again, the pupils at Brooklands have made us extremely proud. An amazing two nights of Aladdin Jr made us all feel joy, happiness and a real sense of achievement. A huge well done to all our pupils and the staff who gave up their time to make it happen."

The production received rave reviews too. One audience member said: "I was blown away by the Aladdin performance last night and all the wonderful young people who took part. Brooklands must be so proud. I wish these young people could see just how wonderful they really are!"

Another added: "Thank you for an amazing show last night. The children were fantastic performers and were so confident.
