Volunteers spread Christmas cheer

Three members from Dunstable Dubbers dressed up as Santa and two elves to visit Keech Hospice Care and deliver presents.

Charlotte Green, Lindsey Miller and Adam Solly decided they wanted to do something to make Christmas special for the people at Keech.

They got other members from the Dunstable Volkswagen Group to help them fundraise for Operation Santa.

Ms Green said: “We wanted to build a grotto and dress as Santa and elves and raise money to buy presents for all the patients, their families and volunteers at Keech, we called the project Operation Santa.

“We got support and donations from Safestore, Dormans, Perfect Print, Tesco, Bookers, Wilkos and from people on Facebook.”

They have raised nearly £4000.

Santa and his elves delivered Christmas hampers to the Keech volunteers and over 200 presents to the children and teenagers.

Ms Green added: “We are planning to buy presents for the adult patients as well.”

The team are hoping to do the same next year, to make a donation, email [email protected]
