L&D staff go the extra mile for charity
STAFF and visitors to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital took advantage of the extra day that comes with a leap year to raise vital funds for charity, including the neo-natal intensive care unit, last Wednesday.
L&D staff encouraged local schools and businesses to help them mark February 29 by doing something to help raise money for the hospital.
The event saw staff and patients go the extra mile for charity – literally – as they donated spare change and joined in a one mile course around hospital grounds.
