As part of the town council’s strategic aim ‘to consider ways to support the increase in leisure opportunities for older people’, the survey goes live on Thursday, June 25 and is aimed at the needs of those over 55 years of age.

During this Covid-19 period, it is appreciated many groups and activities are either on hold, have folded or are happening in another format, so the survey intends to capture their current status.

The survey also gives groups and organisations the opportunity to outline what new groups or activities people would like to set up to benefit older people in the future and what would be needed to assist this.

The public is asked to share and signpost the survey and help as many older residents as possible to fill it in. The council has also put a downloadable version on the its website so it can be printed off for filling in too.

The closing date to respond is Thursday, July 16.
