Alfa Romeo Stelvio Veloce Ti: hot new SUV joins Alfa's range

Alfa Romeo has launched a new performance version of its Stelvio SUV, the Ti, which will be available to order from next month. Full spec and pricing will be confirmed in January.

What we do know is the Stelvio Ti will get rear privacy glass and black window surrounds, dark-tinted exterior badging and — most noticeably — a unique rear bumper with a specific diffuser, plus a body-coloured body kit. As an optional extra, buyers can also stick a set of new-design 21-inch dark-finish alloys on the car.

There’s a host of new styling tweaks inside the new Stelvio Veloce Ti, all of which have been inspired by the car’s flagship Quadrifoglio version. These include leather and Alcantara sports seats, black headlining, real carbon fibre accents for the dashboard and centre console, plus aluminium paddle shifters.

Power for the Ti comes from a 276bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 295lb ft of torque. Drive is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox, delivering a 0–62mph time of 5.7 seconds.

Coinciding with the introduction of the Ti, for 2021 models Alfa Romeo will ensure the rest of the Stelvio engine range, as well as that of the Giulia, will be updated with Euro 6d compliant powerplants. In addition, a host of connected services will be introduced, including an updated navigation system which provides real-time traffic information and speed camera alerts, an SOS call function, and an on-board WiFi hotspot.

A new dedicated smartphone app will allow owners to action the remote control of the car’s functions (opening/closing doors or flashing the lights); communicate with Amazon Alexa and Google Home assistants; identify vehicle location, and set speed limiters.
