Shoppers may be planning ahead for Christmas this year, buying presents earlier than usual, and even eyeing up the supermarkets’ festive food offerings.

Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has given customers a sneak peek into its upcoming Christmas food range for 2020 - and one of the more unusual items is a pigs in blanket stuffing wreath.

The wreath is made of pork, sage and onion stuffing, and is decorated with six pigs in blankets and cranberries.

The festive food wreath serves six people and is part of the supermarket’s luxury Taste the Difference range, costing £10.

However, Sainsbury’s hasn’t yet said when it will start selling any of its Christmas food range, including the wreath.

What else will be included in Sainsbury’s Christmas food range?

There will also be numerous other tasty treats included in the supermarket’s festive food range this year, including a Taste the Difference layered pork, chicken and stuffing pie. The pie includes chicken, pork, stuffing and cranberries and costs £12.50. It combines both chicken and pork and is topped with port-glazed cranberries

The range also includes a ‘yule dog’ cake, which consists of a chocolate sponge cake rolled in chocolate buttercream and covered in milk chocolate, decorated with sprinkles andedible candy canes. The playful pooch-themed cake costs £8.

Also in the range is a Plant Pioneers chocolate and salted caramel star, which costs £8. This panna cotta style star dessert is covered in a Belgian dark chocolate and salted caramel sauce, and is suitable for vegans. The pudding should serve five people.
