Author's crime latest

Evil Unseen will be available from Amazon in paperback and ebook on January 28, with a series of events planned to celebrate its launch.

The first two novels in the popular series, featuring Detective Inspector Lizzie Archer and Detective Sergeant Dan Baines, both reached the top three in the Amazon Kindle ‘Serial Killers’ chart. Originally available in ebook only, they were released in paperback last May.

Dave said: ‘I’m really looking forward to the launch of Evil Unseen, which I hope will do as well, if not better, than the first two books.

“I know from the many positive reviews, and from emails and social media comments that people enjoy the Archer and Baines novels as much for the central characters as for the mysteries they have to solve.

“Readers who know the local area also enjoy reading about places they know and also trying to spot the places they think fictitious villages are based on.

“This case is a particularly tough one for the team, especially for Baines, and readers will see some new developments in the main characters’ personal lives and in their working relationship.”

In the story, a reformed teenage gang leader is gunned down in cold blood and an angry DS Dan Baines, who knew the victim well, reckons he knows who is responsible. But his boss, DI Lizzie Archer, wants to know the identity of the mystery man who died with him – and whether he was intended victim or innocent bystander.

Dave Sivers grew up in West London and left school at 16 to embark on a civil service career that took him around the world. Along the way, he experienced life as a nightclub bouncer, bookie’s clerk and freelance writer, as well as gaining a first class honours degree from the Open University, and launching a second career as a novelist.

His other work includes two hybrid ‘crime fantasy’ novels featuring personal inquisitor Lowmar Dashiel.

Dave is a founder of the local BeaconLit literary festival and appears at and visits a number of other events throughout the year.
