Born in 30s, 70s or 80s? Then help with Queen's beacon...

The town council is collaborating with the Rotary Club of Leighton-Linslade to organise the lighting of a birthday beacon at Parson’s Close Recreation Ground on the evening of April 21.

The LBO is joining forces with Leighton-Linslade Town Council in the search for the lucky locals willing to take part in the event which will feature music in the park (including several bands) and a free firework display.

The aim is for a parish-style activity where runners converge on the market cross bearing a lighted torch.

They will then process down to Parson’s Close where the beacon will be.

Nine residents born in each decade of Her Majesty’s life will meet these runners and help with the lighting of the beacon.

We’ve already have many nominations in the past week, but we particularly need people born in the 1930s, 1970s and 1980s – but nominations will still be taken for the other decades too.
