Starring alongside these characters – and the trains themselves – will be traders selling all manner of collectables. Items include T-shirts, magazines, Steampunk, gothic, kawaii, fantasy hats, jewellery, dolls, greeting cards and much more.

The Buzzrail Cafe will be open and a beer tent will feature Leighton Buzzard Brewery’s award-winning ales and other artisan beers and cider.

Professional photographers will be on hand to capture special moments with your top hero or villain – or simply you and your friends in your own outfits.

There will be a masquerade each day at 2.30pm on Platform 2 where you can watch all the crazy characters in their amazing costumes.

The slow train to the Edge of Forever will also be running from 10am to 4.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday with tickets reasonably priced.

The inspiration for the event came from several different sources – the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, the cancellation of Collectormania in Milton Keynes and the decision to hold something similar nearer home and a celebration of the new station at Page’s Park.

A group of friends who usually attend Collectormania agreed to organise the family-friendly weekend to help raise funds for the new station and its community facilities.

There are still some trader tables and exhibition space available. Contact [email protected]
