CPS praised for work to improve service in Beds

INSPECTORS say the Crown Prosecution Service in Bedfordshire has improved since its last assessment.

Progress has been made in areas including the quality of service to victims and witnesses, the use of in-house prosecutors for certain types of trial work and the quality of indictments.

HM Chief Inspector Michael Fuller said the service had shown an “impressive commitment” to making improvements, adding: “The staff and management have worked hard to implement the recommendations that were made in our inspection report of October 2010, in which the area was assessed as good.”
