New covert cameras capture footage of six fly-tips across Central Bedfordshire
New covert cameras have captured footage of six incidents of fly-tipping across Central Bedfordshire.
Central Bedfordshire Council has not disclosed the locations, but says the footage obtained ‘provides actionable evidence’ and that each case can be pursued for prosecution.

The cameras were installed last month in what the council called ‘key locations’, which were identified fly-tipping hotspot areas.
The council said in a statement: "We will continue to take firm action against anyone who chooses to illegally dump waste in our communities.
"Our countryside, villages, and green spaces deserve better, and we’re committed to protecting them."
The council has also issued advice to residents to ensure they use licensed waste carriers, as if an unlicensed carrier dumps your rubbish, the individual can be held responsible.
Residents are also advised to be wary of ‘man with a van’ offers, as penalties for dumped rubbish can be either a fixed penalty notice of £600, or if a court case is pursued, unlimited fines or imprisonment.
Central Bedfordshire Council have also warned that leaving items besides full bottle banks, clothing bins or recycling sites is classed as flytipping - and that action will be taken where offences are identified.
