Response vehicles to the rescue

It will ensure families and staff can get to and from home in adverse weather such as snow or storms or at a time when travelling can be dangerous or impossible in vehicles other than 4x4s.

Keech boss Mike Keel said: “We need to make sure we can care for our patients 24/7, regardless of the conditions.

“This agreement will help our nurses and other members of staff continue to provide support even if we are badly affected by snow this winter.”

Beds and Cambs 4x4 Response chairman James Addy said: “We have a growing membership who have a passion for supporting their local community and give up their time voluntarily to help others.

“We also love a challenge and using our 4x4s to their potential.”
He added: “We are backed by the Beds, Herts and Cambs Land Rover Club, with mutual aid from 4x4 Response UK. “All our members are experienced drivers who are assessed before joining the team, so people know they’re in safe hands.

“We have vehicles of all shapes and sizes with all sorts of equipment, including winches and chainsaws which are particularly valuable when fallen trees block roads during storms.

“We’re delighted to help ensure Keech is covered by our services.”
