Facebook fans meet the police chief

Chief constable Alf Hitchcock returned to the site on January 4 to host his fourth ‘Meet the chief’ session.

He responded to around 65 questions from members of the public about cuts to Bedfordshire’s budgets, recruitment and serious violent crimes.

Mr Hitchcock said: “These sessions are a great way for me to understand the concerns of the public and help to reassure them of our committment to continuing to deliver a high quality of service by making best use of our resources to ensure we meet demand.”
