Fin’s Fighters win charity accolades

A FUNDRAISING group formed in the summer to raise money for leukaemia and lymphoma research has won two awards for Running Team of the Year and Largest Running Team.

Fin’s Fighters was the brilliant idea of seven-year-old Hannah Armstrong of Stopsley. The Putteridge Infants pupil wanted to do something positive to help her four-year-old brother Finlay who was diagnosed with leukaemia last year.

Their proud mum Tara said: “It was a lovely evening and great news for all of us.”

Fundraising activities continue apace with Fin’s Fighters Golf Day on Saturday when Fin’s dad Tony and lots of his friends will be donning Father Christmas outfits to enjoy a fun round.

The brave young boy has been asked to turn on the Christmas lights at the Luton&Dunstable Hospital next week and Tara will be manning a stall at the school autumn fayre today (November 24).
