Foundation reaching its goals

INVESTMENT into grass roots football has provided Beds with 12 new pitches, 12 new changing pavilions and 64 goalposts since The Football Foundation was set up in 2000.

The UK’s largest sports charity has released research to show the impact of its work, in partnership with Beds County FA, over the past decade.

In 2010, Dunstable celebrated the opening of a new artificial grass pitch and changing rooms – made possible thanks to a £122,766 grant from the Foundation.

Kevin England, county development manager at Beds County FA, said: “Despite the current economic climate it is refreshing to see investment in new and existing facilities in Bedfordshire.

“We look forward to the opening of the £3.2million football centre at Creasey Park, Dunstable, in September built with major Football Foundation support.”
