From stay-at-home mum to Avon high flier

Less than a year ago, Stacy White, 35, of Chelsea Green was a harrassed mum-of-four who missed her high flying position as logistics manager for a procurement company.

“Don’t get me wrong,” she says. “I love being a mum and wouldn’t change a single thing.

“But now I have the best of both worlds. I can have quality time with my children, attend sports days and assemblies and all the other things I couldn’t do when I was working full time, but still have a career and earn my own money.”

What’s changed in the interim is that Stacy’s become an Avon representative. And her drive and determination are propelling her to the top.

Since she joined the company in November, she’s been promoted to sales leader, won an all-expenses-paid trip to Berlin and is on target to become an advanced sales leader by Christmas.

“It’s been a win-win situation,” she says. “It’s given me back my sanity and I think I’m doing well because I’m very driven, I don’t like to fail and I’ll do my best with any challenge I take on.

“The best thing is I can work whatever hours I choose. If my children are sick and I need to stay in cuddling on the sofa for the day, I can do so without worrying. I don’t feel guilty.”

She admits she’s got her confidence and spark back and that her partner Matt, 35, an HGV driver, is very supportive and proud of her success.

But she confesses she’s still struggling with time management: “I don’t always get it right but my family always comes first and I fit in Avon where I can.

“Our home is a mad house from 4pm to 7pm Monday to Friday. With both boys going through the terrible twos and the girls needing help with their homework, it can be chaotic.”

The lead-up to Christmas is a busy time for the company and Stacy now has her own Avon Aces team.

“I think I’ve proved that no matter what your circumstances, if you work hard you’ll do well, “ she says.

“We’re having our first night out soon, so it’s social as well as work.

“It’s good to be Stacy again and not just mum.”
