Girl, 10, to take part in Berkhamsted Walk to help needy children

A GIRL aged 10 plans to walk six miles through the countryside for charity.

Amy-Rose Entwistle has registered to take part in the Berkhamsted Walk on Sunday, May 13.

The Leighton Buzzard girl will be supported by grandad Arthur Wray, of Castle Hill, Berkhamsted.

Walkers have to raise a minimum of £30 for The Children’s Society.

Amy’s hike will begin and end at Ashridge House – but there are also 12 and 18-mile circular routes from The Court House in the town’s Church Lane.

Amy said: “It is really important that I get quite a bit of money, because it’s for children in need.”

But she will have to do well to out-fundraise brother Jonathan, 12. He raised £1,000 by taking part in the walk every year from 2008 to 2011, and even won a tent for his efforts – but will not be walking this year.
