Volunteers will be stationed outside Ollie Vee’s in the High Street, handing out leaflets that offer details of all the 32 musical events taking place around town throughout March. They’ll also be available at many other spots, including the Oxfam shop, library, and Black Lion pub.

Taking place at a wide variety of venues, this will be the eighth annual Oxjam Leighton Buzzard festival. Last year funds reached almost £5,000, with an overall total of more than £37,000 raised locally across eight years for Oxfam’s work in combatting poverty and suffering across the world.

Oxjam organiser Hollie Parkinson said: “We’re fortunate to have a wealth of musical talent, both amateur and professional, in Leighton Buzzard. And as ever, there’s something for everyone this year on the programme, with jazz, folk, choral, pop, and more on offer all over town.

“We hope local residents will give their support to this worthwhile cause, and enjoy some fantastic live music at the same time.”

The 2016 schedule can also be viewed online at www.oxjamleightonbuzzard.org.uk, and regular updates are posted on the Oxjam Leighton Buzzard Facebook page.
