Grill closes after just a year in town

The venue launched at the end of November 2014, under the ownership of Samantha Garbutt.

It served a combination of traditional English dishes and international classics.

The LBO tried to contact the business by phone and email without success. An answerphone message states: “As of Sunday 3rd January, we are now closed.

“We would like to thank all our loyal customers and wish you all a happy new year.”

When it opened the Wharf Grill said it “wanted to create a home from home atmosphere with a friendly welcome and superb food and it prided itself on being the only place in the town for waterside dining.”

The LBO also contacted Captivate Hospitality, the public relations company for the restaurant when it first opened. They said they no longer dealt with The Wharf Grill but could confirm it was now closed.
