The restaurant on Friday Street, was targeted between midnight on Saturday and 6am on Sunday. Cash from the till float and an iPad were stolen.

Owner Jo Garvin is hoping one of the neighbours or a passer-by may have seen or heard something. She said: “They got into the courtyard by going down the alley, they smashed the back door.

“They didn’t get much, some petty cash and an iPad. The biggest cost is the damage to the doors.

“The offender may have been targeting the place, a customer said she saw someone in a grey hoody trying to break in to the side of the restaurant on February 27.

“We opened as normal on Sunday. Although it is very upsetting and frustrating for us, we wanted business to carry on.”

Bedfordshire Police is investigating the burglary. If anyone has any information about the incident, call 101, quoting reference JD/10256/2017.
