Vandyke Preschool, which takes in children aged two to five, has been awarded funding to improve outdoor education facilities for the youngsters.

The independent preschool, based in the grounds of St George’s Lower School in East Street, has received a £10,000 grant from The Big Lottery Fund - Awards For All, as well as a local authority Community Grant, to provide the children who enjoy attending the preschool with an enriched outside learning environment.

These grants have enabled the preschool to replace the outside area with safety surface flooring and a new fantastic piece of climbing equipment.

The funds have also helped create a sensory garden and bug hotel for investigation aimed at helping all children further develop their learning through play.

Vandyke Preschool shares a building with the Leighton Buzzard Children Centre and has a ‘Good’ rating with Ofsted.

There are spaces available for children for those who are in receipt of either 2-year-old or 3 and 4-year-old Nursery Education Funding and fee paying.
