Massive donation from Bedfordshire Freemasons
County provincial grand master Anthony Henderson said: “At the heart of Freemasonry is relief, which means supporting charities and good causes both financially and physically in the communities we live in. “We started these cheque presentation evenings nine years ago and if you include this latest amount, the total donated by Bedfordshire Freesmasons during this period is more than £664,500.”
He added: “In 2017 English Freemansonry is celebrating its 300th birthday and as part of these celebrations we intend to provide additional support to local charities and good causes.”

Head of fundraising Shirley Scotcher said: “I’d like to publicly thank Bedfordshire Freemasons for their continuing financial support to Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice and for the sterling work they do for us every year by overseeing the parking at our summer fayre, which this year is taking place on Sunday, August 13.”
One of the Freemasons who attended the event – who is also a volunteer at Bedford’s Shelter for the Homeless – took left-over food from the buffet to give to those who spend their nights sleeping on the streets of the town.
> Sky TV has commissioned a five-part documentary entitled Inside The Freemasons, which starts at 8pm on Monday, April 17.
Anthony Henderson plays a major part in the series, following his installation in April last year.
