Peli BioThermal, who specialise in the design and manufacturing of temperature-controlled packaging, launched the new service centre during a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by dignitaries.

The facility, which has boosted jobs, was unveiled at an open day attended by business leaders and guests, including the Mayor of Leighton-Linslade, Cllr Ray Berry, Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce financial director Justin Richardson, chief executive of Central Bedfordshire Council Richard Carr, and head of investment and employment regeneration and business directorate at Central Bedfordshire Council Jodie Yandall.

They were joined by company executives, Lyndon Faulkner, CEO of Peli Products, and Dave Williams, president of the Peli BioThermal Division, who travelled from America to address guests.

The new service centre, the first of its kind the company has opened in Europe, helps reduce supply chain costs, reducing landfill from packaging waste and reduce the overall environmental impact of the distribution activity without compromising on the quality and security of sensitive medical shipments.

The visitors heard how the company’s global network of service centres provides comprehensive packages for reusable temperature-controlled packaging requirements.

These include

Thorough inspections

Sanitation using UV light technology

Replacement components

Coolant conditioning

Kitting and packaging options

Distribution and inventory tracking

Paul Terry, Peli BioThermal’s director of Sales EMEA, said: “We were delighted to mark the successful, official opening of the new European Service Centre.
