Hide AdFirefighters have been using four main jets, four sets of breathing apparatus, a turntable ladder and PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fans.
A spokesman for Bucks Fire and Rescue said: “The initial attending appliances were at the scene for about four hours, and two relief crews continued with the damping down process until about 7pm respectively.
“A crew from Aylesbury carried out a reinspection at 9.30pm and remained at the scene for 30 minutes.
“These fires can be extremely difficult to put out because thatch is very thick and designed to repel water.”
